Interior Design I enjoy using my graphics capabilities to create or enhance living or work spaces. These photographs show the interior of a home that I re-designed with an Arts & Crafts (Mission) style. The elements of the room (flooring, lighting, furniture, artwork) work together to create a relaxing enviroment.
Creating imaginative work spaces is a fun challenge. For example, I was asked to design a new computer lab that would fit into a pre-existing room. The space needed to accomodate a class of 30 children, a teacher, and it had to encourage cooperative group work. The images below show two of the plans that I created for this space. The plan on the left shows a top view of the room arrangement. Special furniture needed to be fabricated that would enhance the functionality of the room.
These photographs show two other work spaces. Both are examples of elementary school classrooms that were designed with specific themes. The classroom on the right was themed to Disney's "Magic Kingdom." The interior on the right was themed to the "Back to the Future" films from Universal Studios. Both examples show creative use of lighting, custom-built props and structures, interior painting and other special design touches. |
