The Process

There are several steps in developing your custom font design. The basic steps of this process are outlined below.

1. Identify the font's functional requirements and purpose of the custom font:
   • required character set
   • glyph design
   • other aesthetic and technical parameters
2. Design Comps are presented which show glyph shape ideas.
3. A design direction is selected and the character set is developed. Artwork is digitized and vectors are defined.
4. The initial version is reviewed.
5. Font metrics are created.
6. Font is tested and refined.
7. Final custom font files are generated; the font is ready for use.
