For its 2006 production of 42nd Street, Pittsford Musicals commissioned a poster design that focused on the wonder of the Big Apple. This design was created as part of a full set of promotional materials.
The scene shows the main character, Peggy Sawyer, as she arrives on New York City, hopeful to embark on a singing and dancing career. A 1940s art deco style was chosen for the layout. Titles and artistic credits were integrated into the scene, as were cars from the 1940s and many other details.
