Oliver! Theater Poster

For a 2011 production of Oliver!, David Occhino Design created a theatrical poster that captures the spirit of the play by Lionel Bart and the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.

The goal of this large poster artwork was to present the themes of the production in a rich and elegant way. The Artful Dodger and ray of sunlight welcome Oliver to London, a city filled with both promise and peril. The boy's path is framed in moody, dark shadow where lurk a scheming Fagin and a brooding Bill Sikes.

When viewed at full size (not presented here), this illustration comes alive with exquisite detail, beautiful textures and and hints of antiqued copper.
