ASESTAR is a bold solid typeface inspired by the titles for the popular science-fiction television series. Angled edges, geometric lines and an ultra heavy weight are hallmarks of this futuristic font. The "Laser" version features a channel that runs down the center of each character.
Designers who purchase the OpenType version will enjoy 197 ligatures included in the font. When used in applications with advanced OpenType support, Basestar will automatically join 197 letter combinations to create a sleek, streamlined look.

This typeface is inspired by existing designs
with additional characters designed and digitized by David Occhino. Released in April 2009.

OPENTYPE SUPPORT
Many applications now feature advanced OpenType support, including the Adobe Creative Suite CS2 and higher (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Final Cut Pro, Quark XPress 7 and higher, and all applications which use Mac OS X's built-in font handling such as TextEdit, KeyNote, iMovie and Pages.
Unfortunately, there are still many applications that do not fully support advanced OpenType features, including Microsoft Word, Macromedia FreeHand, CorelDraw and others. Please check to see if your application supports advanced OpenType features (ligatures) before purchasing the OpenType version.
